Ein Blog zu schreiben ist nicht genug Arbeit fuer mich, und neulich im Buero kam ich auf diese Idee. Ausloeser war eine Kollegin, die sich eine E-Klasse kaufen moechte und jetzt natuerlich einen Wackeldackel und eine Klopapierrolle mit Klopapierrollenhut auf der Hutablage braucht. Wir haben dann versucht Wackeldackel und Klopapierrollenhut mit Hilfe von Internetuebersetzungsprogrammen zu uebersetzen und es hat sich auch so lustig angehoert, wenn jemand Wackeldackel mit amerikanischem Akzent ausspricht. Und so kam es dass wir Wackeldackel zum Wort des Tages ernannt haben. So hier nun die Uebersetzungsversuche, wackeln koennte man mit wiggle, waggle, wobble, rock, jiggle, bounce, usw. uebersetzen, Die Uebersetzungen fuer Dackel sind: Winnie Dog, Sausage dog, dachshund. So nun das ganze zusammensetzen, aber wie? Wobble Winnie oder lieber wiggle sausage dog oder doch lieber jiggle dachshund. Was sagt denn der Google Uebersetzer? Wobble dachshund, andere Uebersetzungsprogramme kommen zum Ergebnis: wobbly dachshund. Aber irgendwie gefaellt uns die Uebersetzung nicht so richtig. Also ein Wackeldackel ist eine Figur, bei der der Kopf wackelt, aber nicht batteriebetrieben, sondern wenn man es ansstoesst oder durch Bewegung. Und was sehen meine Augen da auf dem Schreibtisch des Kollegens, ein Wackeltier, kein Dackel, aber immerhin. Und was ist das gebraeuchliche Wort hierfuer: BOBBLE HEAD! Meine Uebersetzungsvariante fuer Wackeldackel ist: Bobble head winnie dog!
Klopapierhut ist natuerlich auch ein tolles Wort und so wird dieses das Wort des folgenden Tages!

Please excuse my german accent in the english part.The other day I got this idea while being in the office - one of my colleagues wants to buy an E-Class and back in the 60s it was common Germany to have a "Wackeldackel" and "Klopapierrolle mit Klopapierhut" on the rear window shelf if you drive a quality vehicle like an E-Class. First of all I needed to find a translation for "Wackeldackel". "Wackel" could be translated as to wiggle, waggle, wobble, rock, jiggle, bounce, and much more. The translation for "Dackel" is winnie dog, dachshund or sausage dog. Adding these two words together would be then winnie wobble or rather wiggle sausage dog or jiggle dachshund. How would Google translator translate it? The result is wobble dachshund. other translation programs translate it wit wobbly dachshund. But somehow I didn't like these translations. It sounded very funny, when my american colleagues said "Wackeldackel" with an american accent. Before finalizing what's the english translation for my word of the the I tried to explain what it is. It is a figure which wobbles with the head, not battery powered, but by motion. And looking around in the office I see a figure just like that on one of my colleagues desk. And this one is a bobble head! Therefore my translation for "Wackeldackel" is: Bobble head winnie dog!
